Jerome Powell Speaks
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell enthusiastically signaled that two more interest rate cuts are likely this year, with smaller quarter-point reductions expected if the economy performs as anticipated, a shift from the more aggressive half-point cut made recently. Powell emphasized that the Fed will continue to balance reducing inflation with supporting the labor market, relying on incoming data to guide decisions without a preset course.
